Roma - Plaza del Popolo (Piazza del Popolo)

Plaza del Popolo

Panorama desde la terraza del Pincio. En primer plano la ampliia Plaza del Popolo, es una plaza vastisima trazada por Valadier en el siglo XIXa prinipios. El obelisco central fue transportado desde Heliopólis en el Bajo Egipto y colocado en el Circo Máximo. En el año 1589, el papa Sixto V y el arquitecto Fontana lo colocaron en el centro de la plaza del Popolo.
