Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli

This church was designed by Michelangeo and was incorporated into the ancient hall of the "tepidarium" of the Baths of Emperor Diocletian (according to tradition the roman Baths were built by Christians condemned to foced labour). The original project was altered in the 1700's by Luigi Vanvitelli. This façade of the Basilica formed the exedra of the "calidarium" at the Baths of Diocletian.
